December Daily Album

This was inspired by Ali Edwards. It is an album to record the daily events in the month of Dec leading up to Christmas. It can be 25 pages or right up to 31 Dec if you like. I suggest you read Ali’s blog for further details.

The key to the album is to create all the foundation pages before Dec comes. The idea is to take the time now to set it all up so that comes 1st Dec, you are ready to experience and capture the memories for the day and add them into your album as you go. No stress then of doing up the album.

Having said that, it is now end November and I am still in the process of creating this album. I going rush it out soon after Zachary’s birthday party is over this coming Sunday.

Here is the cover I made for the album. Using mainly Webster PPs. Embellishment from K&Company. Stamped images from Tim Holtz’s stamp. Check back on my blog as I share the daily pages with you.

Busy busy week for me as had been busy packing up my house including tidying up my scrapbooking stuff that has been piling up. Need to have my house neat and span for Zachary’s birthday party this coming Sunday. Talking about scrapbook stuff, I hope to be able to share with you some of my organization methods when I could spare more time maybe next week.

Thought I would just quickly snap some photos of my preparation work done to share here. Just taken them with my point and shoot camera at midnight (as my big camera is in Zachary’s sleeping area now). Work done so far:

  •
    1. Invitation cards  sent
  • My first time trying on the letterpress technique.

    2.      Goodies bag (filled with Bob the Builder stuff!) packed

    3.      ‘Zachary’ Banner done

Some close up of the banner

Hope you have watched the Big Shot show yesterday. It was real fun and exciting to see myself on TV. 😛 I must really thanks to some of my friends for all their well wishes and encouragement given.

I extracted the following photo album from the Big Shot facebook. Shows the photos I submitted for the pre-selecion and the flower photo taken during the audition day ( is actually one flower; the other 2 are reflections). Also, the other one is a photo taken by hubby of me and zachary.

Do log on to the facebook to view photos by the other 9 finalists (amazing photos!) and also submit your photos (depicting ‘the moment’ theme) for chances to win some cool prizes.

Also, stay tune for the result of the wedding challenge next Tues at 9pm!

Cropathon at MWL

I was so fortunate to be able to attend the Made with Love cropathon cum birthday party . This crop event vacanies were snatched out very fast and I could only be on waiting list for all the 4 different album classes. But on the night before, I received a call from dear Hani to check if I were able to attend all the four classes for the morning session. I was glad that my mother in law was available then to help me take care of Zachary and so I went for the cropathon!

It was a four plus hour session. We bought our own patterned papers for the four albums. See what we came up with during the 4+ hours session.

the diamond accordion album and the mini tag album

I have never ever accomplished so much within 4 hours. Imagine, 4 albums done up from scratch within 4 hours. All thanks to Sandra, Elvira, Swee Ching and Jasmine for helping us making it possible.

the dowel spine album and the backpack album

I really love these hand made albums. So pretty. And see these pretty gifts given by MWL.

Not sure if anyone of you have seen the trailers for the Mediacorp Channel 5 Big Shot. This photography variety show is coming on screen next Tuesday, 23 Nov on Channel 5 at 9 pm.

I have kept most of my friends in suspense of what I was up to during the short period of absence from their lunch dates. And finally now, I could reveal the reason why I was so busy and secretive then.

So as you could have guess by now, I had been real fortunate to be selected as one of the 10 finalists for the Big Shot show.

The Big Shot is a reality TV show about the stories and the challenges of the ten aspiring photographers.  Each episode will show how the photographers take on the weekly challenge to stay on for the next one.

I am very thankful to Mediacorp for giving me such a rare chance to participate in this show for which I have got to learnt a lot from and had definitely made me speed up on my photography learning. I am also glad to have known and learnt from the group of amazing photographers with a strong passion for photography.

So, come support me and the other 9 passionate photographers by staying tune to the Big Shot coming up soon!
